We see this so clearly in children. By the end of the summer, there is a physical change. They are taller, darker, big hair (I am myself ending the summer with a ton of gray hair!) or we also see maturity.
We see this in nature. By the end of summer, trees are fully loaded with leaves and creatures sheltering in them.
In the last two weeks, my cat has been roaming around the garden without me holding his leash. He’s been responding to my call with a meow and responding to my NO, when he is drifting into the neighbor's garden or too far away, with a shake of his body and changing direction. He has even been outside in light rain. He is such a wild thing! And in the last few days he has been coming into the house by himself or when I offer him a treat.
We are still negotiating the boundaries and rituals for these new routines but one thing is for sure a new level of trust has definitely moved our relationship as cat and owner into a new direction.
So when I say a something special that there wasn't there before, this is exactly what I mean.
In my work as a writer and coach, new ways of communicating have emerged too. I have been experimenting with Substack, a platform for writers. It has been a learning curve but one I needed to jumpstart my writing. I also found a new home for the Interpreter Golden Circle. This is a much simpler platform than the one I used to have before that helps me create a community environment where I can continue mentoring, teaching, coaching, and writing and supporting interpreters in a relaxed, easy and self-contained environment. This week I'm starting to send posts and emails through it and uploading free goodies as well as my subscription content. There's certainly something special that wasn't there before…

Summer is the season of expansion. It’s the season where everything and everyone grows a tiny little bit more, and sometimes a lot more! When we can get closer to the full expression of who we are and what we do.
